The activity centers on a simple hydraulic winch mounted to a rigid inflatable or modified fishing vessel. The chute—a ram-air canopy spanning 400 to 500 square feet—deploys from a 150-meter tow line as the boat accelerates to fifteen knots. Riders lift from the aft platform within six seconds, ascending to a fixed altitude between 30 and 50 meters depending on wind speed and passenger weight. The flight itself lasts eight to twelve minutes, tracing a wide arc over the bay before the winch retrieves the line and lowers the canopy onto the landing deck. No prior experience is necessary; the operator controls ascent, altitude, and descent from the boat.
Parasailing Cala Millor tours operate from the Carrer Tramuntana dock in Son Servera, a sheltered mooring that serves as the dispatch point for most east-coast water sports. The location provides immediate access to open water and positions flights over the transition zone where the bay's sandy floor drops to 20 meters. The season runs year-round, though operators concentrate their schedules between May and October when sea conditions remain predictable.
